"Wrecking Your Resolutions Pink Party!!!

If you've been watching the news lately, then you know that Jimbo's might be closing soon, so this weekend might be one of your last chances to see this landmark, historic place.

Temptation Lagoon at Jimbo's across from Fisher Island and Miami's inlet. - This is truly one of Florida's last secret lost treasures. It's the last frontier. When you go here, you will be taking a step back in time as there is more history here than in most history books. An "unofficial" fish camp on county land belonging to the Parks & Recreations department, Jimbo has leased this property since 1960 for $1 a year, and from the looks of things, he hasn't put even one of those dollars into any improvements as it's remained totally unchanged since that time. It's somewhat of a "squatter's camp" with old hippies living there keeping an eye on things and the characters are as colorful and interesting as the place itself. Live rock bands sometimes just show up on the weekends and play for free and just for the fun of it so you never know who is going to be there because nobody knows.... it's just a matter of what band decides to play that weekend. Shrimp and smoked fish is the only thing on the menu, served cold and out of a cardboard box handed to you in a plastic bag is totally delicious and a "must try" thing to do. If you wear an old Grateful Dead concert t-shirt you'll blend right in!

This is such a cool place that many movies like Miami Vice, Bad Boys, Pet Detective, Flipper and lots of others have all been filmed here, including the old cult horror classic, "Creature From The Dark Lagoon". And every major magazine publication like Playboy, Penthouse, Hustler, Vogue, South Beach, Fashion and tons and tons of others have all conducted photo shoots here. And several rock stars have shot their MTV music videos at this location too. So don't be surprised if you see a high fashion or nude photo shoot happening when you arrive! This place is AWSOME!!!

Since all our springtime and summer time regattas are sooooo big with tons of boats rafting up with us, they are simply much too big to go to this wonderful little location.

One of the beautiful things about this location is that it's totally protected on all sides from winds by mangroves, so no matter what the temperature is, it will be hot on our boats at this raft up.

And since the water is so warm here, there are usually matanees and dolfins that come to visit our boats when we anchor here. Remember... this was the location for shooting the Flipper TV show!

And maybe best of all, Jimbo's is accessable by car too! So everyone without a boat can easily come join us. Just register here that you're coming, and make plans with a boat to host you and we'll pick you up from the docks only 50 yards away from our raft up!

And everyone coming by car, Virginia Key has a toll booth with a $5 toll charge. If you tell them you're going to Jimbo's, they may not charge you. But if they do, then keep your receipt and get it validated at Jimbo's and you can get a full refund when you exit! So this gives you FREE entrance and FREE parking at Jimbo's so you can enjoy this quaint, funky, historic little fish camp AND come to the world famous Bella Vita Boat Club's clothing-optional dance party at our boat regatta raft-up party!

Since we didn't get to go to Jimbo's as planned in January, For Barbie's SUPER Popular "Pink Party", We'll Be At Jimbo's!

You don't want to miss this Pink Party because this is the one party each year that any girl not wearing pink, must show her her "Pink Parts" upon request!!! (I'm going to hide all Barbie's pink outfits so she'll be showing her "Pink Parts" all weekend! LOL

As you've read in Barbie's posting at the top of this page, Jimbo's is a super cool place and we're excited to share it with all our Bella Vita friends.

As you can see, it is located right across from the marina at Fisher Island right by Government Cut, the inlet that all the big cruise ships in Miami use.

A Word Of Caution:
It can be a little tricky getting into Jimbo's since there are shallow areas that lead to the entrance of the canal that leads to the lagoon at Jimbo's. But don't worry, if you follow the yellow line on the map above, it will guide you safely into the lagoon where we will be rafted. Our 40' boat draws 3 feet and we have no trouble getting into the lagoon at low tide. But if you draw lots more water then you can time your arrival and departure with the high tides. And if you're a big boat and want a little more assistance, you can radio us on channel #72 asking for the Barbie Party, and we will zip out to your boat in our dinghy with a sonar depth gauge on it, and we will be your personal pilot boat, guiding you safely to the party with you following us closely behind. (how's THAT for service!).

Jimbo's 305-361-7026 Duck Lake Road, Virginia Key, Florida
Take the Rickenbacker Causway to Virginia Key. Take the first left after the light at Mast Academy, then follow the road northeast, staying to the right at the first fork in the road. When you come to the end of the road, stay to the left. You will see the water treatment plant -- then turn to the right (north) and look for the driveway just ahead on the right.



This is REALLY going to be a GREAT party, so we hope everyone can make it.

At the Spring time and Summer time parties, they are much too big with far too many boats to be able to go to special cozy locations like this. And with the surrounding marshes, there are mosquitos in the Summer time, so the only time we can go there is in the Winter months when we expect to have about a dozen boats and zero mosquitos. So you don't want to miss this once a year opportunity.

Hey Everyone!! After all this cold weather we are hoping Feb.'s Regatta will be warm and fun! Trying to party with all your clothes on is certainly not as much fun!! We missed getting to celebrate our birthdays but will happily pretend it's still our birthday!! Jimbo's sounds like a great place to party!! We're not sure if we will be there on Friday or Saturday - but we will be there!! Kev says the foreplay will start today - so we will be ready by the 5th!!

We will be there! We tried to go to the last Regatta but it was sadly cancelled due to weather. We love to be on the boat and enjoy other boat friends. We will likely be bringing some other SDC friends to join in the festivities.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Bella Vita Boy and Barbi for all the work they do. Last months location was moved to Trapeeze and in usuall form Fredrick set it all up. He had everything organized at the door and was a fantastic host. It was nice seeing everyone in there sexy "street clothes" There are some people I've ONLY seen naked.
This duo have always included all Bellavitaits in these fun outside events. Conventions, meet and greets and even on their casual weekend raftups they post to "Come on by"
We are fortunate to have these two wonderfull people and and have made many close friends because of them and there Bella Vita Club.

Hi, this is Jim. Barbie invited me to join the party when we spoke at Trapeeze last month. Bob (Bobbieo) and Sally (Mustang Sally) will be traveling with me from Palm Bch Gardens Saturday A.M. They also have some experience and we are not newbies to boat raft ups. We live near the infamous Peanut Island in Palm Bch County. I will post their pictures tomorrow. (Sally looks like she has the body of a 25 year old.) We will need to launch our boat in the area and will likely need to check out lodging, since we are new to the group. If any one has suggestions, they would be appreciated. I have a commercial ice machine and will have tons of ice. We will also bring lots of alcohol, food and other party favors. I look foward to meeting new people and appreciate the efforts of Barbie and Bella Vita Boy in puting togeather an event like this.

Going into Jimbo's by boat requires that you follow the map exactly as shown. There is plenty of water depth if you follow the course on the map. If you're concerned about water depth, we will guide boats into Jimbo's lagoon on our dinghy on Saturday at 10:00 AM and 12:00 noon, so if you want to follow an escort into the lagoon, then radio us on channel 72 and ask for the Barbie Party, and be at the inlet at 10:00 or 12:00 noon.

If You Need Fuel, Gas or Diesel: Diesel - $2.25 gal, Gas - $2.75 gal
We've Made Special Arrangements for our Bella Vita Boat Club Members! We will have a fuel deliver truck providing 1,000 gallons diesel and 1,000 gallons of gas fuel at special bulk discount prices arriving at Jimbo's on Friday at 3:30 to fill up our boat. Several of us Bella Vita boaters use Dade Fuel company for all our boat fuel needs. You must make an appointment with us telling us how many gallons you need if you want to take advantage of these discouted fuel savings. They are fueling our boat (250 gals diesel) at 3:30, then filling Forever Sunday, (200 gals diesel) at 4:00, so the next available appointment is at 4:30 on Friday. There will be no fuel deliveries on Saturday, this is a special deal for Friday only so book your fuel appointment now by posting your request here.

We will not be having our boat bottom cleaner coming to this month's regatta to clean the bottom of everyone's boats. But starting again at our March regatta you can have your boat bottom cleaned for only $1 per foot, including replacement zincs at special discount prices. So time your bottom cleaning with next month's March 5th -7th regatta.

For Those Needing A Boat Ramp For This Month's Regatta
Here are a few of the closest boat ramps:

This is the closest ramp: Crandon Park Marina, Rickenbacker Causeway to Key Biscayne. Right past Bear Cut Bridge on right hand side. Eastern side of bay. Concrete docks, 8 ramps, 16 lanes, double wide. Hoist available for boats up to 28". Restrooms, marina facilities, bait & tackle, parking, fuel, restaurant.

Sunset Harbor Marina, Venetian Causeway, Miami Beach. From Alton Rd. go west on 20 St. or Dade Blvd. to Purdy Ave. and go to the North end of the park. North of Venetian Causeway. Double wide ramps, with side docks. Parking & picnicking. Located next to a marine patrol station and Island View park.

Watson Park/Watson Island, approach from MacArthur Causeway, on the north side of the causeway. 4 ramps w/docks, 8 lanes. Boats over 15', parking on grass, restroom. Bait & fuel available on S. side of island. Nearby fish market and marina.

Curtis Park & Pool, 1901 NW 24th Ave., Miami. Boats over 15', 1 ramp, 3 lanes, parking, restrooms & picnicking.

For those without a boat needing a ride, we will pick you up from the dock at Jimbo's. (please be sure to have your signed waivers and donations ready). Just park your car at Jimbo's and walk out onto the only dock, which is pictured in the photo at the 2nd posting above. Our raft up party is only 50 yards from this dock so just yell, "BARBIE" and someonewill come get you in our dinghy. If you don't want to yell, flashing your boobs will also get our attention, LOL...

Barbie and I are really looking forward to seeing all our friends again this month, and especially to meeting new friends that are coming for their first Bella Vita regatta!

Remember... Rain or Shine It's Party Time!
The weather has been so crazy lately, but the forecast for this weekend is great, but as we know, they might change that to a bad forecast, but the party will still be on for sure! No matter what the wind, we're in a protected area. And no matter how much rain they forecast, we know their rain predictions are always wrong, and when it does rain, we just go inside the big boats for some inside fun!!!

Superbowl Sunday!
This Sunday is the Superbowl, and it's being played in Miami!!! We've had our regattas on Superbowl Sunday many times over the years. We usually leave the regatta on Sunday at about 2:00 or 3:00 which gives us plenty of time to get home and get to a Superbowl party before the 6:30 kick-off. And sometimes we're having too much fun at the regatta to want to leave, so we have our own Superbowl party inside one of the boats. So this month we're playing it by ear... If several people want to stay and watch the game, then we'll stay, if not, then we'll be leaving by 3:00.

This is going to be a GREAT Weekend! So be sure to not let anything get in the way of attending. We're looking forward to seeing everyone for lots of sexy fun!!
